I’m Sandor Delgado, 21 from Hialeah, Florida.

I got into cycling by going to bike races that my dad used to compete in when I was 9 years old. I was always active as a child learning how to ride a bicycle at 3 years old and playing a bit of soccer. I decided to commit to cycling when I was 10 years old. I was a road cyclist from 2010-2017 and did track mainly as an endurance rider from 2013-2016. 2017 to the present I have committed myself to track sprinting. My dad has been my coach as long as I can remember. He taught me how to ride my bike but most importantly how to race. I have a few mentors and people that have helped and sponsored me along the way. Carlos Laborde taught me how to ride on a outdoor 330 meter track in Brian Piccolo Park in Cooper City, Florida. From my first time trail where he advised me on pacing and my first omnium where he advised me to be proactive and not reactive. Tony Dieguez is my current coach and mentor. He had coached athletes to world championships and has helped me become faster throughout the years that I started with him. Mr. Cube (pronounced Cue) has mentored me and help me during tough times where I may find myself unmotivated.

I love cycling and anything bike related. I love watching sprint events on YouTube and watching the Tour de France. My goal is to become Olympic champion in Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028. The journey is long and it will be a tough one but it’s how Olympic medals are earned. I will focus all my energy and train to reach the top step in the most prestigious event in athletics.
